These programs read configuration informations from the file /etc/ndsclient.conf
that must be there even unchanged,
and honor four environnement variables as default values :
NWCLIENT_PREFERRED_TREE NWCLIENT_DEFAULT_NAME_CONTEXT NWCLIENT_DEFAULT_USER NWCLIENT_DEFAULT_PASSWORD see ncplogin for globally setting them.Here is the original content of /etc/ndsclient.conf:

To help translation, the GUI read all the strings to display from the ndsstrings.tcl file,
located in the same directory as the tcl scripts.
The GUI is available in French and English in current ncpfs release.
To swap between these two languages, overwrite the file ndsstrings.tcl
with either ndsstrings.tcl.fr or ndsstrings.tcl.eng.
To translate it to another language, says Spanish, proceeds as follow:
